When the grain bank „Tidaout“ was opened, ENMIGRAW was in a position to relieve the famine which began in February 2005. Thereby we were able to help the most affected Tuareg nomads during the worst months.

The most urgent task for ENMIGRAW is to secure the food supply in times of want. In order to ensure this, we want to build a bigger storehouse for millet. After the harvest in the south of Niger the grain bank should be stocked up by 15 to 20 tons of millet and other cereals.

In the future the enlarged warehous of „Tidaout“ will secure the basic food for about 2'500 persons in the region of Talak.

When the Tuareg had made the necessary stones, the construction of the warehouses „Tellit“ and „Tidaout“ proceeded quickly. At the end of October 2006 we put in the windows and doors, we covered the roof and installed the drainpipes. Finally we plastered both storehouses inside and outside.

In order to save the costs for one wall, the two storehouses were built against each other symmetrically.
